Ingredients
Scale
Tea Base
- 2 cups water
- 2 black tea bags (or 2 teaspoons loose black tea)
- 1 cinnamon stick (or 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon)
- pinch of salt (optional)
Flavoring & Sweetener
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons honey or sugar (to taste)
Milk
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
Instructions
- Boil water and steep tea: In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add 2 black tea bags, 1 cinnamon stick, and a pinch of salt if using. Reduce the heat and let it simmer gently for 3 to 5 minutes to infuse the flavors.
- Add vanilla and sweetener: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract along with 1 to 2 tablespoons of honey or sugar, adjusting sweetness to your preference.
- Heat the milk: In a separate pot or microwave-safe container, heat 1 cup of milk until it’s hot but not boiling to prevent curdling and to maintain creaminess.
- Strain tea and combine: Remove the tea bags and cinnamon stick from the tea mixture. Pour the hot milk into the tea and stir thoroughly to blend all flavors harmoniously.
- Optional frothy finish: For a frothy texture, whisk vigorously or briefly blend the combined tea and milk before serving warm. Alternatively, cool and serve over ice for an iced version.
Notes
- Adjust the sweetness and cinnamon intensity to your taste preferences.
- This tea can be served hot or iced; just let it cool and pour over ice for a refreshing cold drink.
