Description

Indulge in these decadent Turtle Dessert bars that combine the richness of chocolate, the nuttiness of pecans, and the sweetness of caramel for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

For the Filling:

  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix flour, powdered sugar, and softened butter in a bowl to form a crumbly dough. Press into a greased 9×9-inch baking pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  2. Make the Filling: In a saucepan over low heat, melt sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract and salt. Pour over the baked crust.
  3. Complete the Bars: Sprinkle chopped pecans on top, drizzle with caramel sauce, and bake for 15–18 minutes. Cool, then slice into bars and drizzle with more caramel.

Notes

  • You can toast the pecans for enhanced flavor.
  • Consider using store-bought chocolate ganache as a quicker alternative to melting chocolate chips.
