Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 4 flour tortillas (8-inch)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Sauce and Cheese
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Toppings and Seasoning
- ½ cup pepperoni slices or other toppings of choice (veggies, olives, etc.)
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- Crushed red pepper flakes for garnish (optional)
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Prepare the Tortillas: Lightly brush one side of each flour tortilla with olive oil. Place each tortilla oil-side down onto the prepared baking sheet to create a crispy base.
- Add Sauce and Cheese: Spread approximately ¼ cup of pizza sauce evenly over each tortilla, leaving a bit of space around the edges. Then sprinkle 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce on all tortillas.
- Add Toppings and Seasoning: Distribute pepperoni slices or your choice of toppings over the cheese. Sprinkle Italian seasoning and garlic powder evenly across the pizzas for flavor enhancement.
- Bake the Pizzas: Bake the assembled tortillas in the preheated oven for 8–10 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and edges of the tortillas turn crisp and golden brown.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the pizzas from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. Garnish with crushed red pepper flakes and fresh basil if desired, then slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Tortilla pizzas are great for quick meals or snacks and can be easily customized to suit picky eaters, including kids.
- For extra crispy crust, try baking the pizzas directly on the oven rack instead of the baking sheet.
- Use any toppings you like: vegetables, meats, or a combination to fit your taste preferences.
- Leftover tortilla pizzas can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated in the oven to maintain crispness.
