Ingredients
Scale
Hot Dogs
- 2 pounds beef hot dogs, cut into thirds
Sauce
- 1/4 cup yellow mustard
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with foil or parchment paper to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
- Bake Hot Dogs: Arrange the sliced hot dogs in a single layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 25–30 minutes, turning them once halfway through, until the edges are caramelized and slightly crispy.
- Prepare Sauce: While the hot dogs are baking, whisk together yellow mustard, brown sugar, barbecue sauce, honey, hot sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl to create the delicious glaze.
- Toss Hot Dogs in Sauce: Remove the hot dogs from the oven and immediately toss them thoroughly in the prepared sauce to coat each piece evenly.
- Final Bake: Return the coated hot dogs to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes, allowing the sauce to become sticky and the edges to darken and crisp up further for that signature burnt ends texture.
- Serve: Serve warm, either on toothpicks as finger food or over rice, buns, or mac and cheese for a hearty meal.
Notes
- Use your favorite barbecue sauce and hot sauce to customize the flavor.
- For extra heat, consider adding crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- These burnt ends reheat well and make a fantastic dish for game day or parties.
