Description

Deliciously chewy strawberry brownies made from a simple strawberry cake mix base, topped with a sweet vanilla glaze. Perfectly moist with a fruity twist, these brownies are easy to prepare and a great dessert for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Base

  • 1 box strawberry cake mix (approx. 15.25 oz)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

Vanilla Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the strawberry cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  2. Spread the Batter: Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan, then pour and spread the batter evenly in the pan to ensure uniform baking.
  3. Bake the Brownies: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. Bake until the edges start to pull away from the pan but avoid overbaking to maintain a chewy texture.
  4. Prepare the Glaze: While brownies bake, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk (start with 1 tablespoon and add more if needed for consistency), and vanilla extract until smooth and pourable.
  5. Glaze the Brownies: Once brownies are fully cooled, drizzle the vanilla glaze evenly over the top. Let the glaze set before cutting the brownies into 12 squares for serving.

Notes

  • Do not overbake the brownies to keep them chewy rather than cakey.
  • You can adjust the milk quantity in the glaze to reach your desired consistency.
  • Use a toothpick to test doneness; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  • For extra freshness, serve brownies within 2 days or store in an airtight container.
