Ingredients
Scale
Cookie Dough
- 1 box white cake mix (15.25 ounces)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 to 6 drops green gel food coloring (adjust for desired shade)
Coating
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar for rolling
- Green sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
- Mix the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the white cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir until a thick dough forms. Add the green gel food coloring and mix thoroughly until the dough is evenly colored a festive green shade.
- Chill the dough: Place the dough in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to firm up. This will make it easier to scoop and roll into balls.
- Shape the cookies: Scoop out 1-tablespoon portions of the chilled dough and roll each into a smooth ball.
- Coat with powdered sugar: Generously roll each dough ball in powdered sugar to coat completely. This will give the cookies their signature crinkle appearance.
- Arrange and decorate: Place the coated dough balls 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet. If you like, add a few green sprinkles on top for extra festivity.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until the cookies spread out and develop crinkled tops.
- Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
Notes
- For a brighter holiday look, use emerald green gel food coloring for more vibrant color.
- Add white chocolate chips to the dough for extra sweetness and texture.
- Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them soft for several days.
