Description

A decadent and visually stunning Raspberry Fudge Brownie Trifle that layers rich fudge brownies, creamy chocolate pudding, fresh raspberries, and fluffy whipped topping. This no-bake layered dessert is perfect for entertaining and can be prepared ahead of time to let the flavors meld beautifully.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Layer

  • 1 box fudge brownie mix (plus eggs, oil, and water as directed on the box)

Fruit Layer

  • 2 cups fresh raspberries (or thawed frozen raspberries)

Pudding Layer

  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk

Whipped Topping

  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (thawed)

Garnishes (Optional)

  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chocolate shavings
  • Extra raspberries
  • Fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Bake the Brownies: Prepare the fudge brownie batter according to the package instructions, including adding eggs, oil, and water as directed. Pour the batter into a 9×13-inch pan and bake as specified on the package. Once baked, allow the brownies to cool completely. Then cut into small cubes for layering.
  2. Prepare the Chocolate Pudding: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and 2 cups of cold milk vigorously for about 2 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly. Place the pudding in the refrigerator to chill and set for 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. Assemble the First Layer: In a trifle dish or individual serving glasses, place half of the brownie cubes evenly at the bottom as the first layer.
  4. Add Pudding Layer: Spoon half of the chilled chocolate pudding over the brownie cubes, spreading gently to cover them.
  5. Whipped Topping Layer: Spread half of the whipped topping evenly over the pudding layer.
  6. Raspberry Layer: Scatter half of the fresh raspberries evenly over the whipped topping layer.
  7. Repeat Layers: Repeat the layers with the remaining brownie cubes, chocolate pudding, whipped topping, and raspberries in the same order, creating a beautiful layered effect.
  8. Garnish: Sprinkle chocolate chips or chocolate shavings over the top of the final raspberry layer. Add extra raspberries and fresh mint leaves as garnish for a colorful finishing touch.
  9. Chill Before Serving: Refrigerate the assembled trifle for at least 1 hour to allow the layers to set and the flavors to meld before serving.

Notes

  • This dessert can be prepared 1 day ahead. Store it covered in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
  • For a richer, more indulgent version, add a layer of chocolate ganache or raspberry sauce between the layers.
  • Use fresh raspberries whenever possible for the best texture and flavor; frozen berries should be thawed and drained well.
  • Ensure brownies are completely cooled before assembling to prevent the pudding and whipped topping from melting or sliding.
