Description

Pizza Chips are a delightful and easy-to-make snack featuring crispy tortilla or pita chips topped with pizza sauce, melted mozzarella, pepperoni, and seasoned with Italian herbs and garlic. Perfect for parties or a tasty appetizer, these cheesy bites combine the flavors of your favorite pizza in a crunchy chip form.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 8 flour tortillas or pita breads

Toppings

  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup mini pepperoni slices or chopped pepperoni
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

Finishing

  • Olive oil spray
  • Optional: grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Chips: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the tortillas or pita breads into triangle-shaped chips.
  2. Bake Chips Initially: Arrange the cut chips in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet and lightly spray them with olive oil. Bake for 5 to 6 minutes until they become slightly crisp.
  3. Add Toppings: Remove the chips from the oven and spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each chip. Sprinkle evenly with shredded mozzarella cheese, mini pepperoni slices, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
  4. Bake to Melt: Return the topped chips to the oven and bake for an additional 5 to 7 minutes, or until the cheese has melted fully, is bubbly, and the chips turn golden and crisp.
  5. Cool and Garnish: Allow the pizza chips to cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving. Optionally, garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes for an extra burst of flavor.

Notes

  • For thicker chips, use naan or flatbread instead of tortillas or pita.
  • Try alternative toppings such as black olives, mushrooms, or bell peppers to customize your pizza chips.
  • Serve with extra warm marinara sauce for dipping to enhance the flavor.
