Description

This refreshing Peach Iced Tea recipe combines the rich flavors of black tea with the natural sweetness of fresh peaches and a hint of lemon for a perfect summer beverage. Easy to prepare and ideal for serving cold over ice, it’s a delightful drink to enjoy any time of the day.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea Ingredients

  • 4 black tea bags
  • 4 cups water (for brewing tea)

Peach Syrup Ingredients

  • 2 large fresh peaches, sliced
  • 2 cups water (for peach syrup)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

Additional Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Fresh mint leaves, a handful (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes, as needed

Instructions

  1. Brew the black tea: Boil 4 cups of water and add the black tea bags. Let the tea steep for 5-7 minutes to extract flavor, then remove the tea bags and allow the brewed tea to cool completely.
  2. Prepare the peach syrup: In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil with the sliced fresh peaches. Reduce heat and simmer gently for 10-15 minutes until peaches impart their flavor and soften. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove peach solids, then stir in sugar while the liquid is still warm until fully dissolved. Let this syrup cool.
  3. Combine the tea and syrup: In a large pitcher, mix the cooled black tea and peach syrup thoroughly. Add freshly squeezed lemon juice and stir well to blend all the flavors.
  4. Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the peach iced tea over the ice, and garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves and peach slices for an appealing presentation and added freshness.

Notes

  • Adjust sugar quantity according to your taste or substitute with honey or a sugar alternative.
  • Use ripe, fresh peaches for the best flavor in the syrup.
  • The peach syrup can be prepared ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For a stronger tea flavor, you can steep the tea bags longer or use additional tea bags.
  • Mint leaves add a fresh aroma and bright color but can be omitted if unavailable.
