Scale
Meatball Sub Bites
- 12 small fully-cooked meatballs
- 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Tin: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a mini muffin tin to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into 12 triangles. Cut each triangle in half creating 24 smaller triangles.
- Form Cups: Press each small piece of dough into the bottom and sides of the mini muffin cups to form little dough cups.
- Add Sauce and Meatballs: Spoon a small amount of marinara sauce into each dough cup, then place one small meatball inside each.
- Top with Sauce and Cheese: Add a little more marinara sauce on top of each meatball, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over each one.
- Bake: Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the dough turns golden brown and the cheese has melted.
- Prepare Butter Topping: While baking, mix melted butter with Italian seasoning and grated Parmesan cheese in a small bowl.
- Brush and Cool: Immediately after removing the bites from the oven, brush the butter and cheese mixture over the warm bites. Let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use turkey or plant-based meatballs for a lighter or vegetarian option.
- Serve with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
