Ingredients
Scale
Dough and Filling
- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated pizza dough or crescent roll dough sheet
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
- 2–3 jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Topping
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- Optional: extra shredded cheddar cheese
- Optional: sliced jalapeños
- Optional: chopped parsley
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make for easy cleanup.
- Mix Filling Ingredients: In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix together the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, finely chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, and salt until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Roll Out Dough: Roll out the refrigerated pizza dough into a rectangle roughly 12 by 8 inches, creating an even surface for spreading the filling.
- Spread Jalapeño Mixture: Evenly spread the prepared jalapeño cream cheese mixture over the entire surface of the rolled-out dough.
- Roll and Slice: Starting from the long edge of the rectangle, tightly roll the dough into a log shape. Slice this log into 12 even pieces to create uniform rolls.
- Arrange and Add Toppings: Place each sliced roll cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter. If desired, sprinkle extra cheddar cheese or place a sliced jalapeño on top of each roll for added flavor and presentation.
- Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the rolls to cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving warm to enjoy the best texture and flavor.
Notes
- Wear gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid skin irritation from the capsaicin.
- These rolls are best served warm but can be reheated in a toaster oven or air fryer to maintain crispness.
- For more heat, omit seeding the jalapeños or add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the filling.
- Feel free to garnish with chopped fresh parsley for color and freshness.
