Description

A refreshing and vibrant Iced Matcha Latte made with smooth, sifted matcha powder whisked to perfection, combined with milk and ice. Perfect for a cool, energizing beverage with the option to sweeten to your taste.

Ingredients

Scale

Matcha Base

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 3 tablespoons hot water (around 180°F)
  • 3 tablespoons ice water

Latte

  • ¾ cup milk of your choice (180 mL)
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: 1-2 teaspoons sweetener (simple syrup, maple syrup, or honey)

Instructions

  1. Sift the matcha: In a small bowl, sift 1 teaspoon of matcha powder through a fine mesh strainer to remove any clumps. This ensures a smooth, lump-free latte.
  2. Prepare the matcha base: Add 3 tablespoons of hot water (around 180°F) to the sifted matcha. Using a bamboo matcha whisk or mini whisk, vigorously whisk the mixture until the matcha powder is fully incorporated and no lumps remain, creating a smooth, concentrated matcha base.
  3. Dilute and cool: Add 3 tablespoons of ice water to the matcha mixture and whisk to combine. This step cools down the matcha and adjusts the concentration for the latte.
  4. Assemble the latte: Fill a glass two-thirds full with ice cubes. Pour in ¾ cup of your chosen milk, then carefully add the prepared matcha mixture. This layering creates a visually appealing drink.
  5. Sweeten and serve: If desired, add 1 to 2 teaspoons of your preferred sweetener, such as simple syrup, maple syrup, or honey. Stir gently to combine all ingredients. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing Iced Matcha Latte.

Notes

  • Use a fine mesh strainer to sift matcha for a smooth texture.
  • Whisking vigorously is key to dissolving matcha powder well.
  • Adjust sweetness to your preference or omit for a pure matcha flavor.
  • Any milk type works: dairy, almond, oat, soy, etc.
  • Serve immediately to maintain ice integrity and freshness.
