Description

Hot Honey Blackened Shrimp Caesar Salad is a bold and flavorful twist on the classic Caesar. It features spicy, smoky shrimp caramelized in sweet hot honey, served over crisp romaine lettuce with crunchy croutons, Parmesan cheese, and creamy Caesar dressing. This salad is hearty, spicy-sweet, and perfect for lunch or a light dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon hot honey (plus more for drizzling)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

For the Salad:

  • 6 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup garlic croutons
  • â…“ cup shaved or grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup Caesar dressing (store-bought or homemade)
  • lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp: In a bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, hot honey, and all spices including paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, dried oregano, black pepper, and salt until well coated.
  2. Cook the shrimp: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until blackened and cooked through.
  3. Finish the shrimp: Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle the shrimp lightly with additional hot honey if desired for extra sweetness and heat.
  4. Assemble the salad: In a large salad bowl, toss the chopped romaine lettuce with Caesar dressing until evenly coated.
  5. Add toppings: Sprinkle garlic croutons and Parmesan cheese over the dressed lettuce and then top the salad with the hot honey blackened shrimp.
  6. Serve: Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the salad for added brightness.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to suit your preferred heat level.
  • For a lighter dressing option, use a Greek yogurt-based Caesar dressing.
  • Hot honey can be made at home by mixing honey with a dash of hot sauce or chili flakes.
