Ingredients
- 23 Golden Oreo cookies
- 1 (3 oz) packet of strawberry-flavored gelatin
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking the crunch mixture.
- Crush the Cookies: Place the Golden Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until coarse crumbs form. If you don’t have a food processor, you can place the cookies in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin until coarse crumbs are achieved.
- Mix with Gelatin: Transfer the crushed cookie crumbs into a bowl and mix in the strawberry-flavored gelatin powder thoroughly to evenly distribute the flavor.
- Add Butter: Stir in the melted unsalted butter to the mixture, ensuring all the crumbs are evenly coated and the mixture holds together.
- Bake: Spread the mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet and bake it in the preheated oven for 8 minutes. This will toast the crumbs and enhance the crunchiness.
- Cool & Crumble: Allow the baked mixture to cool completely. If it solidifies into a single layer, break it apart into loose crumbs before storing to maintain the texture.
Notes
- You can store the strawberry crunch in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
- This crunch is excellent as a topping for ice cream, yogurt, or even incorporated into parfaits.
- If you prefer a stronger strawberry flavor, you can sprinkle a little additional strawberry gelatin powder over the finished crunch before baking.
- Substitute Golden Oreos with any vanilla-flavored cookies if desired.
