Description

This homemade Crunchwrap Supreme recipe lets you recreate the delicious, crunchy, and cheesy Tex-Mex favorite right in your own kitchen. Featuring seasoned ground beef, crispy tostada shells, and fresh toppings wrapped in a golden, toasted flour tortilla, this dish is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a satisfying snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Seasoning

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 2/3 cup water

Wrap Components

  • 6 large flour tortillas
  • 6 small tostada shells
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1/2 red onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup jalapeños (optional)

Cooking

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Once browned, drain the excess fat.
  2. Season the beef: Add the taco seasoning and water to the beef, stir, and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened. Set aside.
  3. Heat the skillet: In a separate skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
  4. Assemble the Crunchwraps: Lay a large flour tortilla flat. Add seasoned beef, a tostada shell, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and jalapeños (if desired) in the center.
  5. Fold the tortilla: Fold the tortilla edges over the filling, pinching together in the center to form a wrap.
  6. Cook the Crunchwraps: Carefully place the Crunchwrap seam-side down in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Repeat: Repeat the process with the remaining tortillas and ingredients.
  8. Serve: Slice and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can omit jalapeños if you prefer a milder flavor.
  • Use olive oil or any preferred cooking oil for toasting the Crunchwraps.
  • Make sure not to overfill the tortillas to easily fold them.
  • Serve with salsa, guacamole, or additional sour cream for extra flavor.
  • For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with seasoned cooked beans or plant-based meat alternatives.
