Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Seasoning
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 2/3 cup water
Wrap Components
- 6 large flour tortillas
- 6 small tostada shells
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/2 red onion, diced
- 1/4 cup jalapeños (optional)
Cooking
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook the ground beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Once browned, drain the excess fat.
- Season the beef: Add the taco seasoning and water to the beef, stir, and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened. Set aside.
- Heat the skillet: In a separate skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
- Assemble the Crunchwraps: Lay a large flour tortilla flat. Add seasoned beef, a tostada shell, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and jalapeños (if desired) in the center.
- Fold the tortilla: Fold the tortilla edges over the filling, pinching together in the center to form a wrap.
- Cook the Crunchwraps: Carefully place the Crunchwrap seam-side down in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
- Repeat: Repeat the process with the remaining tortillas and ingredients.
- Serve: Slice and serve hot.
Notes
- You can omit jalapeños if you prefer a milder flavor.
- Use olive oil or any preferred cooking oil for toasting the Crunchwraps.
- Make sure not to overfill the tortillas to easily fold them.
- Serve with salsa, guacamole, or additional sour cream for extra flavor.
- For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with seasoned cooked beans or plant-based meat alternatives.
