Description

These healthy oatmeal cookies are soft, chewy, and naturally sweetened, making them the perfect guilt-free treat for breakfast, snacking, or dessert. Packed with wholesome ingredients like oats, bananas, and nut butter, they’re quick to make and totally kid-friendly.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter or almond butter
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Optional Add-ins

  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips or raisins
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts or seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, natural peanut butter (or almond butter), honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients: Stir in the rolled oats, cinnamon, and salt until fully incorporated, forming a thick cookie dough.
  4. Incorporate Optional Add-ins: Fold in mini chocolate chips or raisins, and chopped nuts or seeds if using, to add texture and flavor variety.
  5. Shape Cookies: Use a spoon to scoop heaping tablespoons of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each scoop slightly with the back of the spoon or your fingers to form cookie shapes.
  6. Bake Cookies: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10–12 minutes or until the cookies are set and lightly golden around the edges.
  7. Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. This helps them firm up perfectly.
