Ingredients

Scale

For the Stir Fry:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

For the Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 green onions, sliced (optional)
  • sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet or wok, cook the ground beef until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if needed.

  3. Make the Sauce: Whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and black pepper. Pour the sauce into the skillet.
  4. Thicken and Garnish: Add the cornstarch slurry to the skillet and cook until the sauce thickens. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  5. Serve: Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Blanch the broccoli for 1–2 minutes for softer vegetables.
  • This recipe is also delicious with ground turkey or chicken.
