Description

These festive Green Jello Shots are a fun and colorful treat perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or any celebration. Made with green-flavored gelatin, non-alcoholic apple juice, and topped with whipped cream and festive garnishes, they are easy to prepare and delightfully refreshing.

Ingredients

Scale

Gelatin Base

  • 1 box (3 ounces) lime or green apple gelatin (or any green-flavored gelatin)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup non-alcoholic apple juice or another fruit juice
  • Green food coloring (optional)

Garnishes

  • Whipped cream
  • Green sprinkles or edible glitter
  • Mini shamrock-shaped candies

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Jello Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the gelatin powder with boiling water. Stir well until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Then add cold water and the non-alcoholic apple juice, mixing thoroughly. For a more vibrant green color, add green food coloring as desired.
  2. Pour into Shot Glasses: Arrange shot glasses or small cups on a baking sheet for easy transport. Carefully pour the prepared jello mixture into each glass, filling about three-quarters full to allow room for toppings later.
  3. Chill and Set: Place the filled shot glasses in the refrigerator. Chill for 2 to 4 hours, or until the gelatin is fully set and firm to the touch.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Once the jello shots are set, remove them from the fridge. Top each with a dollop of whipped cream and decorate with green sprinkles or edible glitter and mini shamrock candies to enhance the festive presentation. Serve promptly and enjoy.

Notes

  • For adult versions, substitute the apple juice with an equal amount of a clear spirit such as vodka.
  • Using green food coloring is optional but helps to intensify the color for a more striking appearance.
  • If shot glasses are not available, use any small cups or molds that can be refrigerated.
  • Make sure the gelatin is completely dissolved in the boiling water to avoid lumps.
  • These jello shots should be stored in the refrigerator until served.
