Ingredients
Scale
For the Bread:
- 1 lb. Frozen Bread Dough (thawed)
- 1 Tbsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/4 cup Brown Sugar (for topping)
- 4 Tbsp Unsalted Butter (melted)
For the Icing:
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar
- 2 – 3 Tbsp Milk
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan for Baking: Spray a loaf pan lightly with cooking spray and line it with parchment paper. Lightly spray the inside of the parchment paper to keep it in place during baking.
- Prepare the Dough: Place the thawed frozen bread dough in the parchment-lined loaf pan. Let it thaw completely according to package instructions, usually between 4-7 hours.
- Mix Sugar and Cinnamon: In a shallow dish, combine 1/2 cup sugar with 1 tablespoon cinnamon to create the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Set aside.
- Cut the Dough: Using a sharp knife, slice 5-6 horizontal slits about half the depth across the top of the dough. These slits allow the bread to pull apart easily after baking.
- Coat with Butter and Cinnamon Sugar: Brush the melted butter generously over the top and inside the slits of the dough. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture liberally over the dough to coat thoroughly, especially inside the slits.
- Top and Rise: Place the loaf pan in a warm spot and let the dough rise for 30 minutes. After rising, sprinkle 1/4 cup brown sugar evenly over the top of the dough.
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake: Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until it is cooked through and the top is golden brown.
- Prepare the Icing: While the bread is baking, whisk together 1 cup powdered sugar with 2-3 tablespoons milk in a bowl. Adjust milk to reach your desired icing consistency.
- Finish and Serve: Remove the baked bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Drizzle the prepared icing over the warm bread. Serve warm, pulling apart each piece for a delicious sweet treat.
Notes
- Using parchment paper with a cooking spray underneath helps keep the paper in place and makes it easier to remove the bread after baking.
- Thaw the frozen bread dough fully before baking to ensure proper rising and texture.
- Adjust milk in the icing to make it thicker or thinner based on your preference.
- The bread is best served warm for that soft, gooey cinnamon-sugar experience.
- Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for longer storage.
