  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium carrot, diced

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

For the Pastry:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Sauté onions and garlic: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and sauté the chopped onion until softened. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Cook the beef: Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Stir in carrot, peas, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Thicken the filling: Sprinkle in flour, stir well, and let the mixture simmer until thickened.
  5. Prepare the pastry: Roll out puff pastry and line a pie dish. Fill with the meat mixture and cover with more pastry. Brush with beaten egg.
  6. Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and puffed. Let it rest before serving.
