Meat Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara or pasta sauce
Layering:
- 1 package (25 oz) frozen cheese ravioli (do not thaw)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Garnish:
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Meat Sauce: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef or sausage and cook until browned. Add onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and marinara sauce. Simmer for a few minutes.
- Layer in the Crockpot: Spray slow cooker with nonstick spray. Start with a layer of meat sauce, then ravioli, more sauce, mozzarella. Repeat layers, finishing with Parmesan cheese on top.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4 hours until ravioli are tender and cheese is melted. Let sit before serving. Garnish with basil or parsley.
