Description

Creamy Zesty Garlic Steak Pasta is a delicious one-pot meal combining tender sirloin steak, sautéed bell peppers, garlic, and a creamy sauce made with beef broth, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese. This hearty and flavorful pasta dish comes together in just 30 minutes, making it perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta & Protein

  • 12 oz (340g) penne pasta
  • 1 lb (450g) sirloin steak, thinly sliced

Vegetables & Aromatics

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Seasonings & Sauces

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the pan: Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet or pot over medium-high heat to prepare for cooking the steak and veggies.
  2. Sear the steak: Add the thinly sliced sirloin steak to the hot pan. Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, and optional red chili flakes. Sear the steak for 2-3 minutes until browned on all sides. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
  3. Sauté garlic and peppers: In the same pot, add minced garlic, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened and aromatic.
  4. Cook pasta in broth: Pour in 2 cups of beef broth and bring to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook uncovered for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente and most of the liquid has reduced.
  5. Create creamy sauce: Lower the heat to medium-low. Stir in heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, and lemon juice. Mix well until the sauce becomes creamy and smooth.
  6. Combine steak and simmer: Return the seared steak to the pot with the creamy pasta mixture. Stir to combine and let simmer gently for 2-3 minutes to meld flavors and heat through.
  7. Garnish and serve: Remove the pot from heat. Garnish the dish with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot for a comforting, flavorful meal.

Notes

  • For extra heat, increase the red chili flakes or add a dash of hot sauce.
  • Use any pasta shape you prefer; adjust cooking time accordingly.
  • Be sure not to overcook the pasta; it should be al dente for best texture.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To reduce calories, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or evaporated milk (may alter creaminess).
