Description

Chocolate Berry Bites are a deliciously simple no-bake treat combining fresh strawberries and blueberries with rich dark chocolate. Perfect as a healthy snack or dessert, these bite-sized delights balance natural fruit sweetness with the indulgence of smooth, melted chocolate and a hint of sea salt for an irresistible flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruit

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (hulled and halved)
  • ½ cup fresh blueberries

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • Sea salt flakes (optional)

Others

  • Mini cupcake liners or silicone molds

Instructions

  1. Prepare molds: Line a mini muffin tin with mini cupcake liners or set silicone molds on a tray to catch any spills and make removal easier.
  2. Melt chocolate: In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and coconut oil. Melt the mixture using a microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring in between, or melt over a double boiler until smooth and glossy.
  3. Layer chocolate: Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the melted chocolate into the bottom of each liner or mold, creating a base layer.
  4. Add berries: Place a few pieces of strawberries and blueberries on top of the chocolate base in each liner, pressing gently to embed them slightly into the chocolate.
  5. Cover berries: Spoon another teaspoon of melted chocolate over the berries to completely cover them, ensuring they are sealed inside.
  6. Set chocolate: Lightly tap the tray to smooth out the tops and help release any air bubbles trapped in the chocolate layers.
  7. Chill: Refrigerate the tray for 30 to 45 minutes or until the chocolate is fully set and firm to the touch.
  8. Finish and store: Once set, carefully remove the bites from the liners or molds. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • You can substitute or mix in raspberries or blackberries for variety and extra berry flavor.
  • For a sweeter version, use semi-sweet or milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate.
  • Use vegan chocolate to make this treat dairy-free and suitable for vegan diets.
