Description

Casino Buns with Chicken are deliciously stuffed soft dinner rolls filled with a cheesy, flavorful mixture of shredded chicken, sautéed vegetables, and spices. Baked to golden perfection, these cheesy chicken sliders make perfect party appetizers or a satisfying snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cooked and shredded
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Buns & Topping

  • 8 soft dinner rolls or slider buns
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the filled buns.
  2. Sauté Vegetables: In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté the finely chopped onion and red bell pepper until soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add Seasonings: Add minced garlic, paprika, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper if using. Stir well and cook for another minute to release the flavors.
  4. Mix Filling: Remove the skillet from heat and stir in shredded chicken, mayonnaise, softened cream cheese, and shredded cheddar cheese until well combined and creamy.
  5. Prepare Buns: Slice the buns horizontally in half without cutting all the way through, creating a pocket for the filling.
  6. Fill Buns: Spoon a generous amount of the chicken mixture into each bun, filling them evenly.
  7. Arrange & Butter: Place the filled buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with dried parsley for garnish.
  8. Bake: Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly.
  9. Serve: Remove from oven and serve warm for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • You can use rotisserie chicken for convenience and time-saving.
  • Add chopped cooked bacon to the filling for an extra burst of flavor.
  • Swap cheddar cheese with mozzarella or pepper jack cheese depending on your preference for a different flavor profile.
