For the Caprese Salad Bites:
- 1 pint cherry tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz) package fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)
- ¼ cup fresh basil leaves
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 20 toothpicks for assembly
Instructions
- Prepare the Balsamic Reduction: In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and honey. Simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until thickened into a syrupy reduction. Let cool.
- Assemble the Caprese Salad Bites: Skewer a cherry tomato, basil leaf, and mozzarella ball onto each toothpick. Arrange on a platter. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper.
- Finish and Serve: Drizzle the cooled balsamic reduction over the bites just before serving.
