Ingredients
Scale
Brownie Batter
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks (optional)
Topping
- 6 Cadbury Creme Eggs, halved lengthwise
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy removal.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth and well combined. Then add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly until the mixture is fully blended.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Sift in the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder into the wet mixture. Stir gently just until all the ingredients are combined to ensure a tender brownie texture.
- Fold in Chocolate Chips: If using, fold in the chocolate chips or chunks now to add extra chocolatey goodness in every bite.
- Pour Batter and Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth out the top with a spatula. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the edges are set but the center remains slightly fudgy.
- Add Cadbury Creme Eggs: Remove the brownies from the oven and gently press the halved Cadbury Creme Eggs, cut side up, evenly into the surface of the brownies.
- Final Bake: Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes to slightly soften the Creme Eggs, merging their creamy centers with the brownie.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before slicing into 9 large squares to maintain their gooey texture and neat appearance.
Notes
- For cleaner cuts, chill the brownies before slicing to firm up the texture.
- To increase gooeyness, swirl extra Creme Egg filling into the batter before baking.
- Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
