Description

This Buttered Lobster Pasta Recipe combines tender lobster meat with a rich buttery garlic sauce, enhanced by a hint of white wine and fresh lemon juice. Perfectly cooked linguine or fettuccine is tossed in this luxurious sauce, offering an elegant seafood dish that’s simple to prepare yet impressive enough for a special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 8 oz pasta (linguine or fettuccine)

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine or seafood stock
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional for richness)

Seafood and Seasoning

  • 1 cup cooked lobster meat, chopped
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine or fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta.
  2. Prepare the sauce: In a large skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil and melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Reduce the wine: Pour in the white wine or seafood stock and let it simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly reduced, intensifying the flavor of the sauce.
  4. Add cream and lobster: Stir in the heavy cream if using for added richness. Then add the chopped cooked lobster meat and cook for 2–3 minutes until the lobster is heated through and well coated with the sauce.
  5. Toss pasta with sauce: Add the drained pasta to the skillet along with a splash of the reserved pasta water. Toss everything together thoroughly to ensure the pasta is evenly coated with the buttery sauce.
  6. Season and serve: Season the dish with salt, black pepper, and fresh lemon juice to brighten the flavors. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Fresh or frozen lobster meat can be used as long as it’s fully cooked.
  • For a lighter dish, omit the heavy cream to let the butter and white wine flavors shine.
  • This pasta pairs excellently with a crisp white wine or sparkling water with lemon for an elegant meal experience.
