Description

Indulge in the perfect blend of sweet and savory with this Blackberry Ricotta Pizza with Basil. A delightful twist on traditional pizza, this recipe features fresh blackberries, creamy ricotta cheese, and fragrant basil, all baked to perfection on a golden crust.

Ingredients

Pizza Dough:

1 ball of pizza dough (about 12 oz)

Toppings:

1 tablespoon olive oil, 3/4 cup ricotta cheese, 1 cup fresh blackberries, 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, 1 tablespoon honey, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves (torn or chopped), optional: red pepper flakes for a hint of heat

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
  2. Preheat the oven to 475°F and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.

  3. Prepare the Dough:
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a 10–12 inch circle. Transfer the dough to a piece of parchment paper. Brush the top with olive oil.

  5. Add Toppings:
  6. Spread the ricotta cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Scatter blackberries over the ricotta, pressing slightly to secure. Sprinkle with mozzarella, then drizzle with honey and season with salt and pepper.

  7. Bake:
  8. Carefully transfer the parchment with the pizza onto the preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly. Remove from the oven and top with fresh basil. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, pre-bake the dough for 3 minutes before adding toppings.
  • Goat cheese or blue cheese can be used instead of ricotta for a tangier flavor.
