Description

These Air Fryer Nachos are a quick and delicious appetizer featuring crispy tortilla chips loaded with melted cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, black beans, and your choice of ground beef or chicken. Topped with fresh jalapeños, tomatoes, olives, and cilantro, they make a perfect snack or party dish that’s easy to prepare in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups tortilla chips
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup cooked ground beef or chicken (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons sliced black olives

Seasonings

  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Garnish and Serving

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • Sour cream for serving
  • Guacamole for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 350°F to ensure it’s hot and ready for cooking the nachos evenly.
  2. Season the Chips: In a large bowl, toss the tortilla chips with chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to coat them evenly with flavor.
  3. Layer the Nachos: Arrange half of the seasoned chips in an even layer in the air fryer basket. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses over the chips, followed by half of the black beans, cooked meat if using, jalapeños, diced tomatoes, and black olives.
  4. Repeat the Layers: Add the remaining chips and repeat the layering with the remaining cheese, black beans, meat, and toppings to build a fully loaded nacho stack.
  5. Air Fry the Nachos: Cook the layered nachos in the air fryer for 3 to 5 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and toppings are heated through. Check carefully to avoid burning.
  6. Serve: Carefully remove the nachos from the air fryer. Transfer them to a serving platter, garnish with chopped fresh cilantro, and serve immediately with sour cream and guacamole on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed to ensure even melting and crispiness.
  • For extra crispy nachos, use thicker tortilla chips and make sure to preheat the air fryer fully before cooking.
  • Feel free to customize toppings with extras like corn, green onions, or diced bell peppers to elevate the flavor.
